Static In Samplitude 2013

Hello,

I just recently installed Samplitude Music Studio 2013 onto my laptop (HP Envy TS j1000) and have downloaded the soundpools and extras. So far, so good - all the VSTs and soundpools work perfectly.

However, when I start working on songs and have multiple sounds playing at once (like 6), the Peak meter spikes past the red (a lot) and I get really nasty static sounds. Just to check that it wasn't just inside the program, I exported a copy of the song and it had static within it!

I'm not sure how to fix the static, but it's no good if I want to work on a large piece and take advantage of the software. How can I do such a thing?

Thanks,

Christopher

Hi

Can you post an example audio file of the 'static' music.

Have you done the following:

   - disabled the internal microphone (if it has one) or turned its recording volume down to 0 ?

   - checked that you can record cleanly using Windows Sound recorder- this will test if there is an internal issue with the laptop?

   - checked with HP on crackling audio issue?  I have found a few posts where this problem has occurred with this model.

Hey, thanks for the fast response!

I have tried everything you suggested: turned off the mic, tested the mic, and even looked at the other HP crackling audio issues. None of them seem to work. I also messed around with my speaker quality (GHz wise to see if that changes, as some things like skyrim won't work unless over a certain amount...) - that didn't work either. Last try before replying here was disabling the built in Beats Audio driver, and that did nothing as well.

Here's the audio file you requested... exported by Samplitude itself. It doesn't sound exactly like it does in the program, as everything seems really muffled and sounds cut back to give way to new sounds (like lack of bass when a higher part plays).

Thanks for the help again!
