some transitions not being implemented after export

@jim-thorley, @Gid

Hi Jim, Gid

. . . . There might be another or simpler way . . . .

After further testing, based on Gid suggestion which works without issue, if you place the timeline cursor marker over the clip to which the end transtion is applied it works (for me anyway).

I found that if you do not move the cursor to be over the clip the transition has to be 'applied twice' to get it to take.

@jim-thorley, @johnebaker, @CubeAce,

Hello Jim, John, Ray en Gid,

After @Gid pointed out to us that this is about fade in and out, I was able to reproduce your problem. The transitions separation 1 and 2 but also all the other transitions are probably not meant to be used as fade in and out, but it is possible that this is also a BUG. I will submit this to Magix Support. I am very curious about their answer. I will keep you informed.

Based on what @Gid showed me, I started experimenting and found this as a workaround.

Kind regards,
Rob

Hi Rob

I agree with this, however I am puzzled as to why it works for me with the proviso that:

- the timeline cursor must be moved to be over the clip the transition before adding the transition, as shown previously, is this a bug, or, like many other types of action only occurs where the timeline cursor is located?

or

- the transition must be added twice, this I feel is a bug.

@jim-thorley @johnebaker @Bol Hi, I didn't really try anything else so 'There might be another or simpler way' basically meant there are other ways to make it work I just couldn't be bothered to look into it 🥱😂.

But here's another option - change the Background of the video to white & it works 🤸‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤯👍

Hi,

Just as a matter of interest, here is how it works. Separation 1 is actually just an mxv file called "blury_split_01.mxv" with chromakey alpha applied.

Interestingly, according to the properties, the file is 5s long, 360x288 pixels, 4:3. When imported, it gets the Movie Size applied.

Going to SPR and applying it, clicking on Original size, gives 384x288. Strange.

If you drag the mxv file onto the timeline between two video clips as shown below, you get the same transition effect.

@jim-thorley Or enlarge the video object by 1px with SPR, the transitions export correctly.

@Gid The solution to enlarge the video object by 1px with SPR is a nice solution. I take my hat off to this find. Now all the transitions are exported correctly. This can also be applied in Pro X16

Best wishes,
Rob

@Bol It seems that making some kind of extra adjustment to the video object makes the transitions export correctly, Sectioning the video object also works. I wonder if it makes MMS export/reads those frames individually in some way. The challenge is what to change that isn't noticeable in the export.

Just out of curiousity & testing I changed the interlace option, this makes the transitions export correctly, I don't know a huge amount about that but like I say I was just playing. 🤷‍♂️

Adding an effect like a little Brightness & contrast makes the transitions export correctly.

@jim-thorley, @browj2, @Gid, @Bol

Hi everyone

I am of the opinion, from the various methods which make the effect work, that the object the transition is being applied to must be selected or adjusted, and is part of a bigger issue with this transition category, ie to use @AAProds terminology, they are 'borked'.

I have reported another bug with the options in the same transition category, and received confirmation from Magix that it is a bug.

If you preview any of the transitions in the Movements Basic category, you should see the display is monochrome, yet in, for example, the Transitions Basic category, the previews correctly in colour and, for me, the Transitions Basic work perfectly every time with no adjustments, selection or timeline cursor positioning required.
