Some of my edited video is missing from my project when I return

I sometimes find that portions of my video are missing when I return to it after a week. Is there a technical explanation of this? Is it just a hacker deleting scenes or do others have this problem?

I had sometimes (with MEP 11+) the same problem when using many tracks. After Locking the tracks before saving, the problem was solved. But I have no explanation of why.

Thank you...I will try this...it sure would be great if I can rid myself of this problem...it's been a frustration to see my work go up in smoke for no apparent reason. Thanks!
