Hi its me with the new computer. Okay before when I used to play instruments, no matter what it was, it shorts out halfway through for example I am composinga song and as soon as I start to sing its like, crackle crackle, and then the rest of the instruments play and nothing from Mutiny( that is the one that shorts out), is this the program out the computer. Munity is a soundpool btw, and I think it is the driver thanks for helping me.

I'm afraid this is a little confusing. Can you provide some more details? What is "Mutiny"? Is that a VST plug-in or just the name of a specific loop? Also, more generally speaking, when you talk about instruments cutting out, are these VST instruments or generally audio loops that you're basing your song on?

It sounds like it might be some kind of sound driver or performance problem, but could be something else. Thus the questions above. Check whether the problem persists once you adjusted your sound drivers to ASIO operation, as per the suggestion given under your other enquiry. Experiment with the ASIO buffer sizes a little.

What sound hardware are you using in your new computer? Did you go for something that caters to your home-recording needs or are you trying to make do with the on-board sound hardware again?

I agree with Ralftaro... also make sure you have the latest drivers for your sound and video cards. Your video card can cause many audio problems if it's trying to redraw the screen while you're recording. You need fresh divers and plenty of memory.

Even if your computer is new, go to the manufacture of your video and sound card web site and get the latest drivers.

One thing that I don't recall others mentioning (I haven't been here THAT long) is that you should not run any other programs on your computer when running MMM.

We are running more and more things on our computers using the same measly 16 IRQ's.  We are bound to have more IRQ sharing and conflicts than ever before.

I also highly recommend disconnecting from the internet and turning off any antivirus and other scanning software while running MMM.  Just be sure to turn it back on before connecting to the internet.
