Samplitude 11.5 Producer - won't save effects changes

Hi, I have a huge project for which I would like to use Samplitude Producer 11.5.

I have a lot of .wav and .mp3 files to tweak and will need to use reverb, normalizaton, and various filters.

The VST effects and any of the non-native effects seem to work perfectly.

However, if I try to use a native effect, such as the built-in reverb; after I preview the effect, which sounds great, BTW, and then click to process the effect, the wave file simply disappears.

I then have to undo the effect application and the wave file comes back.

I am perplexed.

I'm using this on my WIN 7 computer, but tried it on my Win XP computer with the same problem.

I've noticed at least one other person on the Board with the same problem.

I hope to get this issue resolved quickly so that I may start my project.

I am used to using Adobe Audition.

Thanks.

RDB

How are you adding these effects, and where are you clicking to "process" them? Normally, the effects are non-destructive, meaning they are applied in real-time, leaving the original Wav file un-affected. So there's no need to "process" anything to apply the effect.

Sounds like maybe you are doing a Destructive Edit (which overwrites the original Wav), when you shouldn't be. Just add the effects in an Insert - either in the Object Editor, or in the Mixer window, and you won't need to process/apply them or do a Destructive Edit.

@slientsky, that doesn't answer the question.  I've been using Samplitude since v4.0 and I've never had this problem with internal effects, but now I get it on every internal effect I use.

In my case, I do a lot of restoration work.  As a prime example, I'm working on a recording right now where I want to ~destructively~ use a blanket noise reduction on the entire original file, then go back through and do my point-to-point edits.  This way, if I have to go back in later and piece in a section that I previously chopped out in the VIP, I don't have to worry about remembering to add back in the exact object effect settings.

I'm also bemoaning the fine-tune control of the old noise reduction algorithm that was still floating about in v8, but the Multimax seems to do a reasonable job by itself in most instances and that's a topic for another thread anyway.
