I had a crash. Removed SF13, then Reloaded the program. Put in correct ser#, etc. Now, pgm requires a ser # everytime I boot the thing. Also, the original ver was 13.0.45. Now, it says just 13 and there is NO upgrade. Please help.
@patrick-appleson Start it once as administrator by right clicking on the program icon. Maybe it can't save the registry information if you don't do this.
For updates you need to check under the Help menu.
Try resetting Sound Forge in the 'File' menu on the problem PC. (File> "Reset all preferences and clear cached data) Otherwise, go to the 'Magix Service Center> My Account> your products > Details'. Reactivate when SF is re-launched and confirm you are using the correct email address and activation serial.
btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @patrick-appleson.
Okay, Same problem. You Said: Otherwise, go to the 'Magix Service Center> My Account> your products > Details'. Reactivate when SF is re-launched and confirm you are using the correct email address and activation serial. --- I have NO idea where the Magic Service Center is. Would you like to tell me? I mean I've been using Sound Forge since about 1981, and NEVER had a problem. (Grin) Thanks, pat
Using the link to the Magix serviced center as @SP. stated, log into your Magix account and go to 'My Products',(select your product) choose 'Show More Details' and deactivate SF for the PC with the issue.
When Sound Forge is deactivated from the pertinent PC, SF will 'ask' to (re) activate when launched. SF can also be deactivated locally from within the Sound Forge 'Help' menu: "Deactivate the software on this PC". Naturally, the PC should be connected to the internet either way.
