Hi,

I understand you have uninstall the program and some registry keys are remaining.

Have you tried to use CCleaner (freeware) to clear the registry keys? But I am not sure that there is an impact on the slowing down of your start menu.

Hello,

When we install Music Maker normally it install various files in

Public Documents

Applicaiton Data/Program Data

Program Fiels/Magix folder

other that this also in windows system

therefore it is difficult to clean left behind files but we can manually delete those eaily in

Public Document, Application or Program Data, Program Files/Magix(folder)

In your case you had installed MMM 17 trial version then un installed. Later you found out that your computer is slow because of MMM 17. So, if you have already uninstalled MMM 17 then there might be very few left behind files which will not affect speed of computer.

If you think deleting registry of MMM 17 will speed up then my advice never touch registry a slight mistake will stop your computer. But if you still want to do that do as follows: Note my computer os is windwos vista and is in Japanese but I will type English where necessary no problem.

Type in Run commad Regedit

click on Hey_Local_Machine

Look at second screen shot

you can see Magix on left and on the right where ab in red is written put cursor right click and delete it. I will say always keep copy of registry you want to delete.

After deleting try to find out left behind files in

Documents/Application/Program data and Program folder

Turn off pc and start.

There are other factors which makes compuer to run slow

Low Hard disk space, if that is the case, back up date such as Audio, video and images on external drive or CD or DVD.

Clear Recycle Bin, clear history and cookies.

Run disk clean and defrag.

Also in the startup some program runs in the background. Turning them off also helps a lot.

Refer screen shot below, type Msconfig in the run command

then System fonfiguration will be opened

Click on Startup Tab between Services and Tools tab.

Look for the Program you know very well and you do not want them to run when computer starts.

Un check them Click Aplly then Ok restart pc.

If you are up to delete MMM 17 registry and use this soft again for that after following above methods again in run command type Regedit click on Edit Click on Find then in the space type Magix it will show you all Magix entry highlight them and delete. If you can see any entry with such as 1152-627A-SF3838HALKJ it is the main culprit.

Due to the some legal matters I can not say more but I hope you understand well.

If need help send message.

Thank you

its not slowing down just the start menu its slowing down a lot of different programs that were running fine before it was even downloaded

it won't let me delete the keys at all it keeps saying: unable to delete all specified values

Additional: what is your computer OS Xp, Vista or 7?
Hi,

If it won't let you delete the key then there is only one option no matter if your MMM 17 trial period has expired re install it. Then UNINSTALL it using add and remove after that just try again to delete the key.

After that as one user CBY_TLSE has also talked about CCleaner I also use it download from here

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

First thing after installation you should click on

Analyze Tab left bottom and when it finish analyzing click on Run cleaner on the right bottom.

Then look at left there are various features click on REGISTRY(important part)

Before you click Scan for Issues left bottom side please create a folder in My documents for back up registry before CCleaner fix it.(such as CC registry backup)  Who knows you may need backup if something goes wrong. Then click on Fix slected issues right bottom.

After Scan for Issues and fixing issues restart your computer and check if problem is solved or not.

Normally you can also use CCleaner to clean un necessary files, such as cookies, browser history else by using Cleaner tab at the left top(Brush image).

Thank you
