ok. for certain reasons, i reinstalled MMM14. i didn't change the hardware/hard drive or anything. so how do i redownload producer edition? do i just put in producer editions serial number in the help menu's ''activate additional functions'' or what? cause if thats it, its not taking the number. and the website says my order number isn't there when i type it in to restore the activation. what exactly is going on? i'm either doing something wrong or this company is just very unorganized. the, seemingly, only technician hasn't responded in over two weeks either. pretty lame...

I don't know if the downloaded  versions and MM-14 are the same as MM-15, but here is something to consider...

It seems that the uninstall does not remove ALL of the program files from your computer.  Apparently, it leaves behind either an .ini or .cfg file that interferes with any other attempts to reload the program, including activation with the code.

-------------------

The first thing I would do is to uninstall any and all versions you have loaded.

Then, in Windows Explorer, do two searches of the entire C: drive for any files with these names (*musicmaker* and *music_maker*) and delete those too. (Be sure to include the asterisks.) Now, you should be able to do a clean reload.

Of course, I was assuming you are using a Windows-based PC.  You didn't say.

To open Windows Explorer, right-click on the Start menu at the bottom left corner of your screen.  Then right-click on "Explore".  Windows Explorer will then be opened.

I find it convenient to left-click and hold on the "My Documents" folder while holding the CTRL key and drag it to your desktop.  This will create a shortcut icon on your desktop. When using this shortcut, you will have to click on the "Folders" button on the toolbar at the top of the screen to see the folder tree view.

To search any part of the folder tree, click on the folder (or drive) you want to search to highlight it, and then click on the "Search" button on the toolbar to switch to the search view.

As you will see, there are several parameters you can use to narrow your search, if desired.  In this case, you will be searching the C: drive (if that is your main drive) for *musicmaker* and *music_maker* in separate searches.  This should locate any residual files associated with MMM.

It is up to you to know which files, such as audio and "take" files, that you don't want to delete.  The files that are likely causing you problems are .cfg or .ini files that were not deleted during the uninstall process.

Good luck!

C'mon now!  If you didn't want to lose your takes, why did you delete them and remove them from the recycle bin?

They are still on your hard drive as long as you don't do anything else to overwrite them.  Only now you'll need to use a file recovery software to recover them.  That's assuming you don't overwrite any files from loading the software.

I will give you that....but, it's the price we pay by saving a couple hundred dollars by not buying a quality audio editing software.

It is a pain in the rear end, but anyone with a little intelligence and patience can overcome most of these issues.  Unfortunately, it seems most do not have the will.
