Record from You Tube with MP3 DX

I have a Sound Blaster ZXR card. I am trying to record to my MP3 deluxe from YOU TUBE music. My MP3 does show recording and the record meter does not move at all. I have set it "what you hear" and everyother record mixer combination. I have the output of of the Sound Blaster going to the input of my Pioneer deck. It seems like it would read it from the PCI card of the Sound Blaster from the card directly. Also where is the input record setting in the MP3 MX when you are trying to record from the web like streaming and etc? I see record from CD, hard drive, USB and etc but nothing from the record from internet.

Last question why is everything in German when you want to download patches and updates. I do not understand German.

Thank you sincerely for any help.

Hello Jaye,

The following is from the MP3 deluxe MX manual:

By digitizing CDs, vinyl or tapes, by downloading from the Internet or recording from the web radio or YouTube® and Co., the number of songs stored on your hard drive may reach several thousands.

However, that is the only reference to YouTube. There is information on how to capture sound from Webradio, but I don't think that you can do it with YouTube. Thus there is no record setting for the internet. Even if you had one, the quality of a YouTube file would likely be greatly diminished.

I suggest that you get a program that converts the YouTube flv file into an MP4 or MP3. MP3 deluxe reads both formats and just separates the audio out from the MP4 video.

There is also a site that will convert the YouTube file to an MP3 on line.

www.video2mp3.net

Try it. It's free but you have to put up with some advertising.

There is a program called Jing that will do a screen and sound capture, but you may need to convert the format to something usable, and you will lose quality.

For your last question, you have a setting somewhere that takes you to the wrong language (wrong for you, that is). Somewhere on the Magix site online screen there should be a country flag, usually at the upper right of the screen. Click on it and select your country and language of choice.

Enjoy,

John
