Photostory does have the Slideshow Maker Wizards which can add random transitions - see image below and also some templates for slideshows.

There is a trial version you can download from the Magix website.

If you decide to purchase you do not need to re-install - insert the serial number into the trial version and it will be unlocked, also download all the extras once the program is unlocked.

If you are intending more 'serious' work particularly with video, you may be better looking at Movie Edit Pro, it also has a wizard similar to Photostory and movie templates, if you decide to go down this route buy at least the Plus version to avoid having to purchases extras for the Basic edition.
