Quicktime will not open video file

I converted a VHS tape using Rescue Your Video Tapes for Mac. Now Quicktime says it is an invalid file type.

I set video settings for recording the vidoe at .mov and h.264

Quicktime 10.2, Apple Macbook Pro, OS 10.8.2

Hi,

Do you have the latest version of QuickTime on your system? That could be part of the problem.

As far as I can tell. I checked for updates and there were none.
