Can Magix Movie Studio 2025 export to ProRes 422 format? Or do I need to upgrade to Vegas Pro 22? If it is possible, please let me know how it can me done. thank you. :)
I need to create a video for a an upcoming concert, and their requirement is ProRes 422. There is a HEVC output on Movie Studio. Do you think I can use that export? Thank you for your feedback.
I agree with Gid's comment 'I don't think they have anything in common so you'd have to work that out with the concert people' .
Exporting as MP4 and then converting to Prores is not advisable, the formats, while using a similar encoding process, are very different.
Prores is an All Intra encoded, ie every iframe contains the all the image data, high quality video format intended as an intermediate delivery format for use in, for example, further editing for broadcast TV, Blu-ray production and commercials etc,
Exporting to MP4 (h.264) will result in a lower quality video due to the encoding removing a lot of image data, and re-encoding the mp4 to Prores will not improve the lower quality video.
What is the video format, encoding and resolution that you are editing?
If you cannot provide Prores format video, you need to go back to the concert people as Gid suggested.
Hi. Thanks for both of your input. I'm using movie studio. The original video was from 2017, and was recorded with my old Sony. MTS format. Thanks again
. . . . original video was from 2017, and was recorded with my old Sony. MTS format.. . .
What is the MTS video file resolution and frame rate? I suspect it will be 1920 x 1080 25fps or 29.97 fps interlaced, a MediaInfo analysis will give us more detail, see this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.
If the video is 1920 x 1080 or lower resolution, then Prores format is not going to improve the visual quality.
Do you know how the video is going to be shown at the concert, and using what equipment and screen size?
If the video is being projected onto a large screen, unfortunately the image quality is not going to be optimal.
In my limited experience with AV media and arts companies, they have tended to use iPads to control their equipment but have no idea of the software involved.
