@gagmorton

. . . . I have loaded many photos into a new project but images have been cropped. . .crop photos to fill frame . . How can I alter my existing project to reflect this option please? . . .

Assuming you mean the images are not cropped and have black bars either left/right or top/bottom then use Effects, Section to make the image like the slideshow as shown below

Once you select like Slideshow you can move the marquee (dotted frame) up/down in the preview monitor to select the portion of the image you want, if you want to crop more off the image drag one of the marquee handles to change the selection size - see image below, release the mouse button, and then drag the marquee into position

Thanks John for your comments but my issue is different. When commencing a new project, the program opens up with a slide titled New Project. Below the file name is a heading Project Settings below which there are 4 options as follows:- (1) Copy media to project folder, (2) Crop photos to full frame, (3) Use 16:9 format, (4) Manual editing in timeline mode.

When I commenced my project I loaded heaps of photos without realising the significance of item (2) above. It was ticked and so a large number of my images have been cropped. A subsequent experiment showed that a new project that did not have item (2) ticked progressed without cropping. What I would like to do is somehow access the original project and options to amend the setting at item (2) and have the project progress as I had wanted before erring. So far after many hours of fiddling and frustration I am no further advanced and likely facing a lost cause unless you or someone else can show me the light.

@gagmorton

Hi

Thanks for the clarification - that clears up the confusion of the double mention of cropping.

To uncrop the images select each image in turn and reset the Section effect that was automatically applied and then deselect the image - unfortunately you cannot do this 'in bulk' - the reset is circled in this image

When you first added the images you should have this warning appear

If you checked the Do not adjust option at some stage you would not get any warning on further imports or subsequent projects

To reset that the option use the Reactivate dialogs option in the Program Settings
