Program keeps crashing every few minutes - help!

Emily-B wrote on 3/4/2024, 5:33 PM

Hi all,

I've been using Video Pro X for several years now with no issues. A few weeks ago, I began working on a video project, and everything was going smoothly at first. However, I am now experiencing repeated crashes every time I attempt to work on the project. Everything is fine for a few minutes, but then the program will crash and I have to force quit from task manager. I'm able to restore the project just fine and resume editing, but it will inevitably crash again within a few minutes.

I'm using version 17.0.3.68. I just updated my NVIDIA drivers (GeForce RTX 2060) with the studio version. I'm on Windows 10, my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, and I have 32 GB of RAM. Please let me know if there is any other additional info I can provide.

Here's the crash log I am receiving:

@Emily-B

Hi and welcome to the user to user forums.

Is this project longer than your usual projects? I ask because the amount of ram usage being reported is just going over the amount of physical ram you have and means some of what would normally get loaded into ram is being written to your C: drive (where the virtual ram you have set up would be) and could be causing problems.

I am not sure about this but it is the only thing that looks like it could be a problem in the crash report.

There are others better than me at looking at these crash reports so wait for someone like John EB to reply.

Ray.

@CubeAce

Thank you for the quick reply! Yes, it is longer than usual. I am also using a lot of titles (as I am hard subtitling the video) so that might also be affecting things.

@Emily-B A crash in Kernelbase.dll is likely a crash caused by a driver. Drivers run on the same level as the Windows kernel.

Most likely it's the graphics card driver. It could already help if you install an earlier version of the driver instead of the newest version.
