Hi John,

It's a Music Maker 16 and the operating system is Windows 7. I have checked the free hard disk space and there is more than ample amount and I am not running any other applications when using the MM16 package. I would be grateful for any advice you could give.

Ok...

I would first say that it is likely that you have other applications or start-up programs that could be causing some sort of interference or miscommunication.

To me, the program is freezing, which means resources are not there to support the tasks you have requested; no matter how mundane. I am not support, nor do I claim to be vastly knowledgeable with this... but to me this is that is going on.

Now, before you do anything make sure your system is up to date. You have the latest drivers for your hardware, the updates for Windows and, importantly, any update for the Music Maker software.

From there, I recommend you take a close look at all the icons that hang out down by the system clock. Those icons are programs that start when you power up the PC and Windows starts. Each one requires resources. So, they could be in conflict.

Again, I cannot arbitrarily know this, it is my assumption. I have turned off all my start-up programs other then my anti-virus software. To do this, I used the MSCONFIG utility from Microsoft.

MSCONFIG

I wrote a How To for this as well...

Maybe that will help.
