How can I print to pdf? It prints your propeitary prn file. I want to simple print a document processed with your layout in a standard readable pdf.

A .prn file is not a proprietery file of the program, it is a standard Windows file that is created when you select the Print to File checkbox that appears in the Print dialog boxes on Windows. It contains a set of instructions specific to the printer you have connected.
In the print dialog uncheck the Print to file option as shown below - this example is from a different Xara product, however Page Designer should be similar.
