If you get sound anomalies while using a plugin like LiViD, then it could be a resource issue. Perhaps something else that is installed and running in the background is using resources that are also necessary for the program and or plugin.  This would be especially true if you run similar programs.

Also, another thing to consider is that even if you have a program shut down, it may have utilities running from start-up. This means it or part of its programming is active once the computer is turned on.

Maybe a test you can perform is opening a older project where this sound anomaly was not hear, and work with that project to see if there is a sound issue now. If there is, you might want to look into a selective start-up using MSCONFIG to control what runs when you start your computer.
