First off, I have MM17 and I am useing a (Pevey) PV6 mixer to plug my guitar into the computer/program.

Well the issue is, that after I have recorded the guitar track (over the drum loop I have created previously) and play it back, the drums echo as if they were recorded with the guitar along side the original drum track. I could just mute the drums and record guitar but I am useing the drums for timeing.. Without being able to record guitar over the drums, this program (MM17) is useless to me.

Could this be a soundcard issue? Or is there just an option in the program I don't know about yet? I am very new to MM17 and am still learning a lot. Thanks in advance for your help.
