Playback suddenly disabled in Trial version of Samplitude Music Studio 2013

In a multi-tracked VIP file, everything was working fine, recording, playback, all working as they are supposed to work. Then suddenly the playback function stopped working. When I hit the spacebar the cursor jumps ahead slightly and then stops but no playback happens even in that small space. If I hit "Home" the cursor returns to the 0 position but the same thing happens when I hit the spacebar and it happens from any place that I move the cursor to There are no ranges. I restarted the program, same problem; then I restarted program, loaded another file, same result.

Samplitude Music Studio 2013 Free Trial version, Windows 7 Professional, plenty of storage space, plenty of memory. only Internet Explorer running in addition to this program.

Coincidentally, however I don't remember in what order this occurred, I was trying to purchase the program and had difficulty there as well, and I ultimately gave up trying. It is possible that this malfunction occurred after that but I'm not sure about that.

OK...I'll ask...How long have you been using this "TRIAL" version?

It says that I have 5 more days to use it before the trial period ends. I used Samplitude Studio 6 and then 14 for years but when I upgraded to Win7Pro, the PC emulation work-around just didn't cut it. So I have been using Garage Band on my Mac which also offers only a pale version of the functionality of Samplitude.

I was ready to pay for it and this happened. I want some kind of assurance that if I buy it, it won't break like this.
