Photostory Deluxe Disembodied Audio Clip removal

Christine-Keim wrote on 10/19/2020, 12:01 PM

I purchased and installed Magix PhotoStory Deluxe version 18.1.2.48 in 2019. Irecently made a video and unchained some audio from video and moved it around. In the finished product, after I have deleted all of the unneeded video and audio, I have a very small section of a piece of audio that does not show up visually, no matter how big I make the pieces although I am able to isolate exactly where the audio is on the track. I have tried reconnecting it to video & deleting and cutting & deleting, nothing seems to work to remove this audio. Do you have any suggestions?

I am using a Lenovo thinkpad laptop with windows 7.

@Christine-Keim

Hi and welcome to the forum.

. . . . although I am able to isolate exactly where the audio is on the track. I have tried reconnecting it to video & deleting and cutting & deleting, nothing seems to work to remove this audio . . . .

Try the following:

  1. With the project loaded select File, Manage Slideshow, Export slide show file and save, naming the .MVM
  2. Restart Photostory and start a new empty project
  3. Select File, Manage Slideshow, Import slide show file and select the file saved in 1.
  4. Save the project with a new name.

This should remove the phantom audio.

Thank you. I did as you said, but the phantom continues to exist on the new project.

That should have fixed the issue.

With Photostory closed - browse to the AudioTemp folder and delete any .HDP files present. Also if there are any WAV audio files containing the name of the video clip move them to another folder, then try loading the project again in Photostory.
