Photo "fragments" in slideshow's timeline, can't remove

umberto2 wrote on 5/10/2014, 11:41 PM

I have finished a slideshow with Photostory 2014 Deluxe. However, there are "fragments" - for lack of a better word - of images used elsewhere in the slideshow that remain stuck on the timeline after the end of the show itself. They are invisible in the timeline, no matter how much I zoom in, so I can't cut / delete them. They show only for a second or so if I run the timeline marker over them, and/or if I try to save the project as an MP4 file they are saved as part of the slideshow, ruining the end (instead of ending where I inteneded, the slideshow keeps running with a black screen - no photos or music - until these "ghost" images are played back, then the file stops playing.) I tried to save the file, getting out of Photostory and reopening the file hoping it may be some sort of cache issue, but these ghost images are still there. Any idea of how I might be able to remove them? Can I copy the "good" portion of my slideshow project onto a new file somehow? I tried the cut and paste but it doesn't seem to work across projects. Thanks.

Hi,

I am using 2013, so I am not sure if this works in 2014. I recently had a similar problem in Video Pro X6, which left one frame when I did a Ctrl+delete, for some reason. I can't replicate this, which is frustrating, so I understand your problem. I did manage to find the single frame objects and delete them.

Press on End on the keyboard to send the playback marker to the end of the timeline objects. If it is beyond the last object that you want, then you have an image that may be only one frame. You say that you can't find anything. I dragged the zoom slider completely to the right and the zoom level is single frame. There should be nothing smaller. Then with the mouse mode for single objects, I lassooed the offending objects and deleted them. Then I went to End again to make sure that there was nothing beyond the last photo or video. Did you try this?

If in max. zoom with the slider and the timeline showing 00:00:00:00 then 00:00:00:01 meaning 1 frame, you can't see the ghost then there may be a bug. If so, report this to Magix. I have not found anything like this myself, but then I don't have 2014.
