Open template VIPs more quickly?

Daz_Harris wrote on 10/24/2024, 3:24 AM

Hi folks,

I normally work with one of three different template VIPs.

To open a template i need to:

#1:open Samp

#2: new project

#3: click drop down button

#4: select drop-down template

#5: click ok

That's 5 actions.

I'd much prefer to just have a template VIP file on my desktop or wherever, and with one click, open it.

And of course i can do that if i want.

But the problem comes with saving.

When i create the template with the 5-step method and then click save, I'm given a choice of where to save to. In other words, it won't let me overwrite my template, which is good.

But i do my one-click method, it will let me overwrite my template, which is bad!

Anyone know of a way to more quickly open up template VIPs that is also save-safe?

Thanks!

@Daz_Harris

Assuming I'm understanding the problem correctly (you want to save a project without overwriting your template file) why not use Save as>, and select the location for the saved file without overwriting your template?

Well, there's a reason why you can't save over a template VIP if you open it via the 5-step process, isn't there?
