Not working

John-Cooper8976 wrote on 8/25/2021, 8:12 AM

After initial instrallation and a couple of days of successful operation the program crashed citing error code 59. A pop-up recommernded reinstallation which I did. Subsequent to this I was frequently asked to re-register the software. On computer start up I got messages such as "Hostservices2.simplitec.com not found" and "QNetworkReply hostNotFoundError". A trawl of the internet suggested unistalling Update Notifier which I have done. Now the computer is very slow and the program is not at all happy. Should I unistall again and reinstall? Or is there something else?

Hi

. . . . . Now the computer is very slow and the program is not at all happy. Should I unistall again and reinstall?  . . . .

Check that you do not have any Windows updates pending a restart off the PC.

Do a cold restart of the computer - Windows button/key, Power button, Restart.

Check if Rescue Your Video Tapes (RYVT) runs OK.

If that does not fix the issue, download and install Revo Uninstaller Free and use it to initiate the uninstall of RYVT.

On completion of the uninstall Revo will ask you to scan the system for left over files, folders and registry entries do this and delete what it finds. Note if you have more than one Magix program installed make sure only the leftovers in the lists refer to RYVT are selected. This you must do otherwise you will not have a clean install and may be worse off.

Do a cold restart of the computer then install RYVT - you may want to turn off your Antivirus (AV) once you have downloaded the installer, some are known to interfere with installation of some Magix programs with false positive detections blocking the installer, restart the AV when completed
