No sound on the recording

I have a video camera Sony MVX10i, and I use the S-video cable between the recorder and the USB Magix dongle connected to the PC. The recording from the video was great, There is sound on the video tape, but there was no sound on the recording. What can be the problem. I use Win11. I need some help to get this working. In Windows Settings, Privacy & Security, App permissions section, check that the Microphone, Let desktop apps access your microphone is turned on.

Hi, Thanks for tips, but still no sound on the recording. Tried a new recording but the same result. Could the problem be recording wirh the S-video?

The MVX10i is a Canon camera - is this the one you have?

If so see pp 37-39 of the cameras manual for the connection options for playing back on a TV, these also apply to capturing to the PC via a USB capture device.
