The sound mixer doesn't give an option to amend to usb, sorry.

I have even tried using seperate jack connected to the Magix converter audio to no avail.

Also If the microphone is enabled then external sound records onto the vidoe transfer while capture is taking place.

Yes, that is what I would expect.

Two further things to check: going back to the fourth screenshot in your first post, "Audio Source", is there any alternative to the WDM driver for the Magix convertor? There may not be but I would still like to be sure! Also on that same Audio Source setting, what appears if you click on the "Volume" button?

Do you have a "speaker" icon in the SysTray, bottom right corner of your desktop? It should look like this:

If you right-click on it you should see an option "Open Volume Mixer". What does it show? Below is a picture of mine, which will look very different to yours. The MOTU interface is my dedicated, external audio interface and, as you can see, by default I always turn off Windows System Sounds!

BTW, rather than using your phone or a camera to take screenshots (I have a dedicated app for the purpose, "FastStone Capture", there are a number of others), but this page will show you a somewhat convoluted method to take one without needing any additional app.

I'm using different computers to send you the information, I'm not very good technically as you may have gathered :-(

I too do not have this program so I'm flying a bit blind here..Have no idea of the interface you are working with.

The output volume should not cause distortions on the playback unless the audio has been recorded too loud so it's definitely an input volume problem.

Here is a shot of the sound bars working, as stated you can see sound is getting through very slightly even though it is set at maximum. I have disabled the microphone.

Hi William.

It's really hard finding any screen shots on the web about this product and the manual seems next to useless as if everything is going to work out of the box. The problem could well be within Windows.

As I said I don't have your program or an external connection to a video recorder or relevant camera. But I did manage a sort of simulation using Movie Edit Pro and found I had a similar problem. In Movie Edit Pro I set it up for a screen capture but wit nothing to capture sound wise. So I opened WinAmp and its volume control was set to maximum. However it gave a low volume output to the MEP recording page. So then opening the windows mixer I found although WinAmp was set to maximum within itself, Windows mixer had it below half volume.

Altering that volume then gave me the volume I needed within the recording sect of Movie Edit Pro.

I don't know if your problem is similar or connected in some way but may be worth exploring.

[Edit] I should have added everything needs to running in order to see the relevant volume controls within the Windows mixer.
