Hi,

Did you do as I asked - delete the temporary files.?

In your image, try holding down Alt and dragging the right end of the audio part to the right. Also, do a Shift+E (I think) to get the waveform - after deleting the temp files.

Media Info shows a variable frame rate and 44kHz for the audio. Audio should have been 48kHz for a video.

Thanks. There was only a .HO file. The changes to program settings were not persistent. I had already changed (unchecked) the video and audio on one track.

As for the sampling 44k versus 48k, why would the video and audio not be synched with time stamps?

Thanks for your help! It is appreciated!

Hi Richard.

Try setting import processing and export to CPU. Although the program is seeing your Intel GPU it may not be using it correctly as the minimum spec of Intel GPU for the program to use is the Intel HD 520.

You won't have any HDP files if you have not made any wave forms visible in the timeline editor.

Although aac sound files for video are normally 48kHz, 44.1kHz is not unheard of and should not be the reason for a shortened sound file although I don't normally see the end line in the audio data that I see in your file data.

The line. mdhd_Duration                            : 3231412 T

Is the file shown on the timeline an original file and not a handbrake converted one? You only seem to be showing the first thirty seconds or so of the project.

Also you should not need to use 6 buffers and that many samples for just a single audio track.

Ray.

You only seem to be showing the first thirty seconds or so of the project.

Richard, you can display the whole timeline/movie by clicking on a blank track and then the hitting the Enter key, or hitting CTRL F.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

@Richard-DeVito, I am guessing you still have VMS17 installed? Have you tried importing the file there to see what happens?
