NEW Video Pro X14 Freezes on Playback and Editting Executions

I upgraded my Video Pro X13 to Pro X14 a few days ago and I have not been able to produce a smooth editting process at any level. After every keystroke, I have to wait about 1 to 3 minutes for a program freeze to release before I can continue the editting procedure. There have been occasions whereby the program will crash and I have to resume using a backup copy of my project. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, is there an easy fix to correct this problem? Did I get a BAD download copy of the Video Pro X14 program? Any assistance and/or guidance regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated.

In order to help with this issue we need more information

Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Device options tab may help.

What format and resolution video are you importing on to the timeline?

The amount of free space on the hard drive(s) you have.

Please do not type in all bold, it is considered as shouting.

Not sure why you have posted my signature, however use this as an example of how to enter the specification of your system into your Profile Signature, Using images as above only gives a partial specification along with an excess of unnecessary data.

The "Signature" data you copied and pasted to your latest reply is that of @johnebaker. Hence, because it is already available as a footnote to every one of John's posts, I have hidden it.

However, that level of detail is exactly what a "Signature" should contain, i.e., considerably more than you have given us in the earlier post! You can access the Signature area of your own forum account by clicking on your icon at the top of the page, choosing My profile and then My signature. Pressing the Edit button will allow you to create your signature which will then be automatically added to every post you make.

So, please do go ahead and create your own signature.

Then, please also do the other things that John listed in his post, especially taking and posting here a screenshot of the Device Settings in VPX14. Then, also please answer his other questions; we really do need you to help us to help you!

Ok, Thank You. I followed your guidance and have added my workstation specs in my signature. And I just recently update my drivers for my video card on yesterday, per guidance provided on the Magix support site.

Thanks. But I was not sure exactly what you did need for troubleshooting purposes. I thought it best to have more info than not enough to get the best overall picture of what my current system looks like. Please advise on what info is "superfluous" and I will delete it, if it serves no purpose. Any guidance and/or assistance you may provide regarding this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for correcting the specs..

Your PC is similar spec to mine for GPU's - check the following:

Intel UHD 630 iGPU is available - in Device manager it should appear as shown below

If the UHD 630 does not appear in Device manager, then it is may be disabled in the BIOS and needs enabling.

The UHD 630 is using the latest drivers 31.0.101.3222 / 31.0.101.2111 available here

If you have a single monitor and it is plugged into the RTX GPU, and it has a second input connect the second input to the motherboard graphics output - this is need for the iGPU to 'come live', alternatively use a Headless Ghost. If you have dual monitors plug one into the motherboard graphics - this is the way I have mine set up
The RTX 2070 is using the latest drivers 516.59 (31.0.105.1659) available here
VPX Program settings, Device options, Import, Processing and Export are all set to the RTX 2070
There is not entry for VPX in the Windows settings, Display, Graphics option, Custom options for apps - if there is remove it, the setting is not needed, VPX will use both GPU's when it needs to.

Test VPX to see if the freezing is gone.
