(new to magix) how to move tracks freely?

hi, i was wondering if there is a way to freely move the tracks without it automatically (?) clips to the vertical lines(?)

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

See the screenshot below:

Find and click on the icon highlighted and you will see various options for "Snapping". Choose one of the options which suit what you want to do. If you want to be able to place the beginning of the object, effectively, "anywhere", choose the No Grid option at the end of the list.
