My Rescue Version 8.0 does not transfer the recording

Hi all, I hope you can help!

I have installed and uninstalled my program several times, but it will not work as it used to. It crashed when my harddisk was full and I tried to move the folder with the projects. I have tried to delete everything and start fresh, and installed the program again. Nothing helps. I can start the program and play my VHS-cassettes, but after clicking End Video Transfer no file shows in the field below. I have tried different VHS-cassettes and the same happens. I think it has something to do with where the files should be saved. But I do not how to fix it or how to delete everything so I can install like the first time again.

Hope you have some ideas :-)

Kind regards from the Arctic

@VHS-lady

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

I will say straightaway that I have never used this particular Magix software so any advice I can offer is slightly "guesswork" but I suspect your problem may have been exacerbated when you decided to uninstall and reinstall! (I notice you wrote delete rather than uninstall - I hope you actually mean the latter. If you simply chose to delete the program from the Program Files directory then you will have considerable difficulty in reinstalling because many files and folder of the old installation will still be there and the installer is highly likely to get very confused!)

So, as a first stage I think we need to ensure that everything connected with the installation of RYVT is removed. To do that successfully, please follow exactly the steps in this tutorial. Once completed, reboot your computer and attempt the installation again, taking care to select exactly where you want the imported video files to be saved.

Thanks Jeff. Yes, I ment uninstall. I tried to delete other files that I could find also, but this did not solve the problem. I have looked at the tutorial, but I could not see any steps other than how to get my serial number on the Magix web page. It was only one PDF-page or am I missing something?

Hi

. . . . It was only one PDF-page or am I missing something? . . . .

The tutorial is two pages long, try downloading it instead of viewing in the browser and ensure Acrobat Reader is up to date.

Hi again. I have followed the steps in the PDF but after re-installation the same thing happens. The recorded part does not show after clicking End Video Transfer. After re-installation of the program, one of the previous files still show up in this path: C:\Users\thl023\Documents\MAGIX\Video easy Rescue Your Videotapes! Version 8.0\06 VHS. I think this is where the problem is, but I do not know how to fix it. I installed the normal way (not selecting the folders myself).

Kind regards
