MTS files wont load

TIM-BRANGHAM wrote on 7/13/2018, 5:59 AM

I have downloaded the trial verison of Video Easy 6 before deciding whether to buy it, I tried to start a project importing

MTS files from my camera which are saved on my computer but everytime I try the program just hangs with the whirring

circle cursor. Have tried some other MP4 files I have and they load ok. According to the specs its compatible with M2TS files

but if you download these files to a PC it always changes them MTS as all file extensions have to be max 3 characters,

I understand the actual file is exactly the same just the - can anyone help?

Thanks

Hi

Without more information on your computer - there have been issues with MTS files since the WIndows 10 April update.

Please read this topic and put the following information in your profile signature so we do not have to ask for it:

  • Computer specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset make/model, audio card or chipset make/model, RAM,  hard drive configuration and sizes?
  • Windows version and is it up to date?  Press and hold down the Windows key and the R key - in the dialog that opens type in winver and press enter.
  • Software full name and version number - as found under Help, About . . .

Also when posting please include the following where applicable:

  • Audio and/or video file formats being imported
  • Export format and settings used
  • MediaInfo data on audio or video - see below

If you have issues with importing audio or video please use MediaInfo to analyse a problem clip and post the results from the Text view in MediaInfo

However as you are using the trial version MTS files may not be supported due to licensing requirements.

Do you get any error messages or are there any message windows open underneath the Video Easy window?

. . . . if you download these files to a PC it always changes them MTS . . . .

MTS and M2TS are both file extensions for AVCHD video, if you are using the camera manufacturers software to copy the video from the camera to the PC it may be changing the file extension - this does not affect the video within the file container.

Hi

Do you have a MediaInfo analysis of one of the mts files you are trying to import.

How much free space is there on the SSD drive?
