MPEG-4 and HVEC Codecs?

I've been reinstalling all my purchased content since upgrading to VPX14. I have noticed my MPEG-4 (Main Concept) Codec and HVEC Codec are not showing up in "Install Extra Content." I know some people dislike these, but I paid for them and would at least like to have them available. Is the installation in VPX14 different?

@Scott-Maas

Hi Scott.

The HEVC codec will need to be activated with a new key code. You can contact Magix and request a new one but will have to provide proof of purchase. I think supplying the old activation code should do that.

The Main Concept codec was withdrawn from use in VPX 13 onward. You will have to ask Magix about that one, Possibly Main Concept were asking for fees for its use. Some codec providers allow other Program providers free use of the codecs until annual sales figures reach a set level where upon the program provider using it is expected to start paying royalties to Main Concept. The licence for an individual to use the new version of the main concept codec is now quite high. The Magix version offered was at least three generations older and may also be no longer compatible with Windows 10 onward. I have really no idea over why it was withdrawn in this instance. I have looked at the licensing agreements on the Main Concept website though and those are my conclusions as to what might be going on.

Again, the terms and conditions agreement that covers Magix right to withdraw, change, or remove any part of their software at any time. That is common practice in software development to cover themselves.

Ray.
