I purchased MP3 deluxe 17 to remove all duplicate mp3 from my music library but it only remove a few duplicates at a time. How do I get it to remove all duplicates?
Hi Procyon. A stupid question how do you do that in explorer? Don't know that is exactly why I bought the software to do it for me. I have a directory with sub directories containing all my music. In Itunes it shows 1000's of duplicates and in MP3 Deluxe 17 but yet it only deletes a couple at a time, think only if it is exact duplicates but not songs with same names. It is really frustrating when you are told it delete duplicates and then you have to battle.
I assume you are referring to your Windows folders as "directories"?
In Windows Explorer, locate and click on (to highlight) your main music directory (folder), then click the Search button. If most of your music is in the MP3 format, in the search field type in *.mp3*. This will list every MP3 in that directory.
If you use the headers at the top of each column in Window Explorer to sort the listings by name, all of your duplicates will appear together in a group making them easy to find. You will also see the path of each listing, which will make it easier to determine which copy you want to keep. You can also "preview" any file from that location if there is any confusion.
