I have a project where I included mp4 videos. I've added fade in/outs to these and it works when previewing the movie. When I export to a mp4 file the fade in/outs don't export over. Any ideas?
Andrew, try exporting using different hardware acceleration settings. Go to File>Settings>Program and on the Device Options tab, in the HW acceleration area, put all the droplists onto "CPU" and then try an export.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that and it still didn't work. There are only certain video pieces this is impacting. Those where the aspect ratio is 16:9 don't export with the fade ins and outs. The ones I have where it's less than 16:9 (eg. 9:16) export with the transitions.
. . . . Those where the aspect ratio is 16:9 don't export with the fade ins and outs. The ones I have where it's less than 16:9 (eg. 9:16) export with the transitions. . . . .
That is odd, we need more information please:
The type/name of the transition(s) applied that is/are not being encoded.
Are all the videos from the same recording device ie a Mobile phone - if so which make/model?
What video format are the video files ie HEVC (h.265) or MP4 (h.264/AVC)
A screenshot of the Movie settings dialog, and the Export dialog settings you are using in this project
The full name and model of the CPU and any 3rd party graphics cards installed
Are the drivers for the CPU and graphics card up to date?
Further to what John EB asked for, please show a screen shot of the entire interface showing a video clip on the timeline with a fade-in that we can see on the timeline. As well, what is the duration of the fade-in.
