MM12 deluxe - creating my own bass runs

I have tried Revolta and Vita and every time I try to create more than 4 bars of music it goes back to only 4. I need to create a unique bass line for a song. When I set the blue "bar" counter in the main screen or in the synth window to 24, which is the first part of the song, as soon as I play it it goes back to 4 bars for the bass.
I do not have a midi device to directly input. How can I "write" a bassline?
Thanks.

you could  import any midi file longer than you need, then delete the midi data so you have lots of blank bars. i don't know why magix programs stopped allowing you increase the length of a midi object.

You will see two brown colour markers on top of the bars, try right cliking through the mouse on the right one, they do shift but sometimes it is bit of an effort. By default the midi editor takes 4 bars. Alternatively try a free download of Anvil Studio from the net. Create your midi there and import in Magix.
