@CubeAce In 2004 my aunt died leaving us some money, enough for me to buy a 3.5ghz dual core PC, I thought it was the bees & bought MEP from I think Target, I didn't use it a lot, phone cameras were crap & i didn't have another, I didn't get my YT account until 2012.

yeah you've poss seen some of those, but the last half of that clip i just did & cobbled it together with the older clips at the beginning, & yeah, US YT takes some taxes before it gets to me, then because it's classed as income i have to declare it, I claim for all my joinery tools etc.. but my friend does my taxes tho so 🤷‍♂️

PS, I didn't get the internet until about 2008, didn't need it, times were different then, & this was the first MEP I registered, so I suspect I upgraded online, I've had a look for the earlier disk but can't find it, If i did register the earlier one it must have been under a different name, email, account 🤷‍♂️

@Former user

Hi Gid.

You didn't miss much, I've been online since 2006 when TeleWest took over the local cable run by Rediffusion and there weren't many providers before that. We got it earlier so our son had better access to data for his school work.

If you are using your videos to help promote your business then a percentage of that cost could be used against taxes. I used to claim for our advertising on the net as there was a monthly bill associated with that but you should see a proper accountant to verify what could be claimed.

Ray.

@CubeAce Think I've got my dates wrong, just looked at the CD - 2005 & online it says - "Magix Announces Movie Edit Pro 10 February 22, 2005" , So maybe it was my mate that died 2004 & my aunt died 2006, poss MEP10 is the 1st I bought & didn't register it till 2010 , dunno, it's long time ago 🤷‍♂️,

From my original AA Productions website:

Video Deluxe:     The name of the German and original English version, came out around 2002.

MEP 2004 and 2005:   Program renamed to Movie Edit Pro and released to the worldwide market in 2003.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.
