Hi.  Although I've not needed to do this for some time, using VPX5 to export to mp4 has never been a problem on my set-up.

However, to help you we need a LOT more information about your computer, the files you are importing and the export settings you are using.  First, please read this post and give us the info requested there http://www.magix.info/uk/please-do-the-following-before-posting-your-question.forum.621831.html  Then, what format are your imported files? (if you're not sure use the free MediaInfo or GSpot to get the precise information.)  What export settings are you using (mp4 can have a number of "varieties" I believe.)

With this information we MAY be able to suggest a solution to your problem or at least a workaround.

Jeff

Hi

As emmrecs says we need more information, however there is one problem that I found with Movie Edit Pro, a while ago, which may be relevant particularly as you have got it to work changing the program settings.

Do you have the Hardware acceleration turned on in the program settings?

and the GPU acceleration option on the export dialog

turned on?

When using GPU accelaration in the program settings and the GPU acceleration for standard transitions option in the export/burn dialogs I have found that the export crashes for mp4.

Try turning of the acceleration in the export dialog if it is on, if not try turning the acceleration off in the programs settings.

I have the same problem.  All other prior versions worked fine -- same computer, etc. NO hardware or software changes.  Works fine in AVI etc. ONLY MP4 crashes.

Running Win 7, on Dell, Intel Quad 4, Tons of memory and resources -- NO problem there.

Would LOVE to see a working answer ASAP!

Hi,

Here we go

Usings MAGIX PRO X5

Project length 38:50

Type of files

AVCHD MTS (video)

MP3 (for music)

JPG (pics)

I just did the following: Grabbed an MVP file to test. Tried to export to MP4 and it crashed. Restarted PRO X5 and I saw that there were two open projects. I use one for copying standard intro's and outro's. I closed that project (CTRIL-F4) so there was only the project that needed to be exported. ANd it did not crash, its exporting (rendering) now. So I will have a look and test if multiple open projects causes the MP4 export crashes. Ik will report on that soon,

Hi there. I managed to find a work around!! After analysing and testing I found out that it has something to do with the filedialog box. Sometimes the program aborted but I managed to get it working sometimes. When clicking on the filedialogbox (when you want the exportfile to be created in a certain folder) after just editing and saving a file, the program crashes when clicking on the [Advanced] button or clicking on the [OK] button. What I found out is, that after editing and saving(CTRL-S) a file, just quit Magix andRESTART it. Go directly now to export [Export movie] and if you now click on [Advanced] you will be able to adjust settings there. After returning to the [Export movie] window you should be able to file dialog box at the file name and storage setting and after that exporting to MP4 should work. Well, at least mine is. The clue is, quiting Magix and restarting it, and then go directly to Export Movie.
