Magix Movie Studio Platinum 16 (build 109)/ bezier masking non functio

When trying to do a mask, tool is supposed to turn into a pen. Not for me

 

My settings are as follows for mask 1, although I have kinda toggled them on and off

Enable 1: checked

Type: curve

Edit mode: checked

Edit tool:add

Any body have any non derogatory ideas? 🤓

 

Lenovo Legion y7000 (costco)

Windows 10 home 64 bit

i7 8750h

GeForce GTX 1060 with 3 GB ram (Intel USB graphics 630 installed but not assigned)

16gb ram

256 GB ss hard drive
