@SDH

Hi

To create a link to an anchor:

Create the anchor - right click text or image to be used as the anchor point and select Names and give it a unique name and add it.

Create the link to the anchor point.

@johnebaker

Thanks John,

I really appreciate your help!

I have done this, but I am still having problems.

The link to the anchor point works perfectly when you are in the page with the anchor point.

But if I am in another page, when I click the link, I move to the correct page, but not the anchor point.

The problem occurs in one of the Templates. Try the following...

Online content catalogue > Websites > Modern Business Websites > Creative Portfolio (R)

If you click the 'contact' button while on the first page you move to the contact section. Try clicking 'contact' while in the 'Projects' page. You move to the first page but not the contact section.

Hi

. . . . But if I am in another page, when I click the link, I move to the correct page, but not the anchor point. . . .

That is an odd behaviour - did you check the link in the Products page points to the correct anchor?

@johnebaker

Hi,

I have checked the link and the information is consistent in all pages.

However, I have noticed the following...

When I am in the Home page, with the contact section at the bottom, when I click 'contact' the screen moves to the contact section. The address bar shows...

http://localhost:8000/virtd2963b14/index.htm#xl_Contact:32section

When I click 'contact' in another page the address bar shows...

http://localhost:8000/virtd2963b14/index.htm#Contact:32section

So I am clicking the contact button on two different pages and receiving a slightly different address.

The 'xl_' in the address is 'missing'.

Does this help?

Steve

@SDH

Hi

The differences in the link syntax appears to be correct in the testing I have done, the behaviour puzzles me as I get a consistent behaviour.

I would suggest you join the Talk Graphics forum which is dedicated to Xara products and has a longer history and more users who may have come across this issue.
