Installing EditPro 14 plus on a new system - problems

emptech wrote on 8/12/2010, 3:20 PM

Trying to install editpro 14 on a new laptop, after the installation, says all the drivers didn't install, wants the cd left in and to reboot.  Bring up the program again, keeps asking for the same thing.  Never even gets to where it asks for the serial number.

Win7, 32 bit.

Installed ok on win7, 64 bit

I don't think my firewire driver is loaded, but this program shouldn't care at this time, should it?

I am not sure, I know MAGIX didn't update the 14 for Win 7, and I could only imagine if it worked on the 64 bit os it should on the 32.

You have full admin rights?

Have you tried right clicking the program .exe icon and run as administrator?

I originally tried that, right click on the setup and run as administrator.

I also tried creating the administrator account, logged into it and installed

the program.

The program seems to install ok, it is when the actual application is

run when the error message shows up, don't even have a chance to type

in the serial number.

Strange thing, it installed ok under win7 64bit, but a problem with 32 bit.

The problem has been solved, yes, MEP 14 plus does run on Win7 Prof, 32 and 64 bit.  The problem was as somebody else explained on this forum and on the Magix site, had to do with some test during install making sure the dvd was protected or something, and got a wrong answer back.

I downloaded the syscheck program, and eventually requested an unlock code.  The unlock code was emailed to me within 30 minutes.  Once the unlock program was run and the code copied and pasted in, ran the editing program again and bingo, it asked for the dvd serial number printed on the paper envelope.

Part of the process of getting the unlock code, a serial number, printed in tiny letters on the inside ring of the dvd had to be typed in.  I didn't even know there was a number there.

Hope this helps others.
