installation error - converting media database

Just received my newly purchased 'PhotoStory on CD & DVD 9'. On installation, and reinstallation, I repeatedly received the error message:- "ERROR CONVERTING MEDIA DATABASE". What is my problem? The same error message also appeared when the Mufin programme was installed. The program has already been registered, it is not as 'trial' version.

One of the files have been cruped you may need to clean your DVD drive or DVD/CD, then reinstall.
If you dont know how to clean them properly, DONT DO IT get some one that knows how as you can damage them.

I had the identical problem installing Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 plus Photo Manager. The solution (eventually) was to carefully clean the DVD, checking that there was absolutely no mark or blemish left. Result - installation successful! I should add that I couldn't really see any blemishes to start with but hey, it worked.
