@tony-polus

Hi Tony,

When you install Independence, the first go-round is the program which should be on C:. The second go-round is the instruments library, which you should be able to put anywhere you want where there is room.

I just installed the SAL version the other day on a new computer and I should have recorded what I did. I ended up with the 70GB Library installed under: N:\Magix\MAGIX\Independence Libraries.

So, it can be done. Take a closer look at the installation procedure for the libraries.

Also, you may want to join the Samplitude forum. There is also an Independence subforum there and you'll find more info.

@tony-polus Isn't it possible to change the download directory in the installation settings?

But there is an alternative:

Move the download directory for Independence from C: to D: Now the download folder should be gone from C: and sit on drive D:

Open the command prompt cmd.exe

Enter the following command

mklink /J "C:\The\Path\To\Your\Independence\Download\Directory" "D:\The\Path\To\The\Moved\Directory"

and replace the paths with the correct paths on your computer and press Enter.

Windows then creates a symbolic link at C:\The\Path\To\Your\Independence\Download\Directory that points to D:\The\Path\To\The\Moved\Directory.

The installation program will not recognise the difference and will just put all the data in the folder on C: but it's actually written to drive D:.

I moved the application from C; to D: and it's working... Thank you so much! It will take over an hour to load but that should do it.
