I hooked my Sony camcorder via s-video and red/white audio thru the Magix digitizer to my pc.
I can hear the sound from the camcorder, but the only video is of myself on skype.
I can see the video of the tape on the camcorder screen.

Is it possible that the digitizer is not functioning even though the sound goes thru it as well as the video?

I've not got your program but suspect the issue might be the choice of (or just using the default) 'Video driver'. Below is a screen shop from a different Magix video editor showing only one video driver but several different audio sources on my computer.
Check if you have a similar screen and see what options are available for your video source.

It sounds like the driver has not installed correctly, you may have received one of the bundle packages where the driver does not match the device, we unfortunately had a new device released by our supplier.
I would advise to try and download the following driver:
http://download.magix.net/support2/driver2828x.zip
Once it is installed, then you should see the USB device available in dropdown menu when you first select the recording device (same window as where you select the input). If that does not work then you should contact support directly.
