What sound card do you have? You need to make sure you are actually using a sound card if you are doing a playback while recording as most integrated chips cannot sustain that level of recording for larger periods of time.

What is the latency associated to? Meaning, are you recording audio, is this just playback... what are you doing that you notice latency?

Are you recording MIDI?

Hi,

Do you want to know about sound card it is easy.

I have made some screen shot and typed in English though my system is in Japanese.

Giving you reference from Windows xp and Vista computer.

Windows xp got only computer's sound card no extra items while vista showing more than one because I have added audio interface to work as a sound card.

To know sound card we got two easy options.

1. Through Device Manager. I am using windows vista.

Control Panel

Device Manager

Click on + Plus sign next to Speaker icon to expand and see sound card or sound cards.

You will know the names of sound card.

Refer screen shot

2. Through Music Maker.

Open Music Maker

Click "Y" Key a Program settings window will be opened

Click on Audio/Midi tab look at left under Audio Playback

there are Wave driver, Direct sound and Asio driver.

1st screen shot is from my MMM 16 on Windows xp using computer sound card.

2nd screen shot is from MMM 16 Premium on Windows vista using Tascam audio interface sound card other than computer's sound card.

Red arrows showing where sound is selected.

On right side Out put and Input device. On left Asio driver.

Hope this will help you to know about sound card.

Hi,

Sorry to know your problem is not solved yet.

It could be due to Windows 7 as MMM 16 Premium works on

Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP and Vista.

I got it and using on Windows vista, I do not know if there is any update

available from Magix for windows 7 user. Please contact Magix support

and explain your problem in detail.

They will surely guide you well.
