Hi

We need more information:

Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Display options or Device options tab  would help.

Ok this is related,

I am running Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium, Version 20.1.80 (UDP3) -(I did try and upgrade to 2023 but it kept crashing, I submitted a ticket at the time [Ticket# Removed by moderator]).

This issue only started yesterday, I try a work around by opening a new file and putting a video clip on the timeline then I go to the TEXT interface and it's all there so I then open the original file where I have the interface prob and it looks as it it should, so I close the new file (with the single video clip and text) and carry on working, If ,However, I close the program and later go to the file for more editing then the problem is back

In the program settings try changing 'Processing' in the device manager to 'CPU'. That may help.

If not then try changing 'Import' to CPU as well. Try combinations of settings. Some combinations of settings may work better than others. Some settings may make the system run worse but should cause no damage or corruption. You can always change those settings back.

The AMD Vega 8 is not a particularly powerful GPU and may be struggling a bit. It may also be that the program is using a lot of ram if you are working in 4K. If the commit charge of ram showing in Task Manager is showing more than the amount of physical ram your machine has, that data could be being written to your C: drive instead.

In my experience, most program glitches come from hardware problems or not setting a program up to cope with the hardware correctly for that machine.

In the past I had a hard time setting up Photoshop to run on my computer back then. The manual was no use and in the end I had to buy a book to get to know how to set it up. Luckily things have progressed a little since then.

My suggestions may or may not work. I just looked up your computer components on line and made a guess on what might work better for you.

Most of us here are using computers with an additional GPU because of the weaknesses of inboard GPUs. Video editing is very GPU and CPU intensive and the most demanding programs to run on any computer.

Ray.

Hi.

As for your original post. The drop shadow appears to be working as expected at my end.

Hi

We need more information:

Are the AMD graphics GPU drivers up to date? The latest version is Adrenalin 23.11.1 11/2/2023 according to the AMD website.

Is Windows settings, System, Display, Scale & layout section, Scale set to 100%? If not set it to 100%

Does selecting Window, Window arrangement, Default or Standard (which ever is present) return the Title pane to the correct layout?

It seems particular to this file and backups, I mostly work -take videos in 1080 @ 60fps (59.94)

Hi

. . . . It seems particular to this file and backups . . . .

Does this mean that if you start a new project, the title pane is displayed correctly?

If so then it is likely that some settings of the program interface that are saved in the project file have been corrupted.

Try the following:

  1. Load the project with the issue
  2. Select File, Manage project, Export movie file, Magix movie file (*.mvd) and export giving the file a meaningful name.
  3. Close and restart Movie Edit Pro, and start a new proect
  4. Select File, Manage project, Import movie file, Magix movie file (*.mvd) and import the .mvd file saved in step 2, and remove the empty timeline if necessary.
  5. Save the project with a new name.

Thank you, I found that if I click away from the text strip on the timeline and also select something else in tools like chroma or brightness/contrast etc then going back and select the text strip again on the timeline and selecting the text tool it then looks fine ! so that's what I've been doing since
