I use Magix Photostory 10 for DVD/CD. When a DVD of my slide show is burnt, the images are blurred (and at lower resolution). How do I preserve the orignal resolution of my images, when the DVD is made?

Standard DVD definition is 720*576 pixels, therefore no matter how high the resolution of your originals are they will always be reduced to this size.
The problem is caused by:
1. You are playing the DVD on your computer - not recommended as you probably have a higher resolution screen than the DVD standard. Also the video may be de-interlaced to play on a progressive screen - this in itself reduces the definition of the video as seen on screen
2. Playing the DVD on a HD TV with a standard DVD player which does not or can not upscale correctly. (If you view a commercial DVD on such a player/TV combination you will see they are just as bad as well)
3. Your video encoder settings for the DVD are set to a low bitrate.

Blurry DVD output is one of the recurring themes in Photostory and MEP forums. I am prretty sure that softness invariably caused by the anti-interlace (anti-flicker) filter being on by default (and not by low bitrate). Increasing bitrate and leaving anti-interlacing (anti-flicker) filter on is quite useless in terms of achieving better DVD quality. You are just encoding blurred images (movies) at a higher bitrate setting.

The Mod icon means I am a Moderator for the forum, I do not work for Magix - just a long time user of MEP (from version 11 all those years ago ) and other video editting programs (in my job!) for 11 years plus.
