It seems I`m lacking driver2828x.zip, mentioned in your forum by a member with a similar problem.

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

Which USB Video Capture device are you using to connect the camera to the computer?

Are the drivers for it installed?

Where is the post saying you need the 'driver2828x.zip, mentioned in your forum' ?

John

Hi John

Thanks for quick respons.

I`m using the red Magix usb-connector that came with my video saver device.

The video easy software is installed as described in the guide

The videowandler 2 is also installed

It might be an irrelevant driver i red about in the Magix Forum, but here it is:

The forum i refer to is the one pasted below

Hi

Unfortunately nothing is easy where computers are concerned

The 'MAGIX USB Videowandler 2'. is the USB video capture device.

If you get the same error when you change the Recording Quality setting then :-

If you are using Windows 8, I would suggest you contact Magix support as there may be a different problem.

I am assuming your computer technical skills are very limited - apologies in advance if otherwise.

For Winows 7 and Vista you may need to update what are called the device drivers for the USB device, they are available here:

https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/download/tools  -  select the correct one for you USB device.

If you have the black converter then you need to know which version of Windows you have  - to find this right click Computer or My Computer on the Windows desktop and from the menu that appears select Properties.

On the first pane you will see some information like this (this is for Windows 7)

kind regards John

Hi John

I have dug out my old USB converter to check with VE4 and it appears in the dropdown menu as shown in this image

What options do you have when you plug in the Red converter and then start VE4.

Can you see any video on the preview monitor when the camera is playing?

Can you check the camera video is being output by connecting it to your TV/Video via the same cable as you are connecting it to the computer with?

that post was one of mine

Hi again

The connection on your picture is excactly the one I`m looking for.

The only option that is shown on my screen, is the scart connection.

I see no picture and hear no sound when the camera is playing.

You call it your "old usb converter with VE4" . I just baught it from Magix webside. Do You know if there`s a new one on the marked, just one month after I baught mine?

Thanks again

John

Hi

Apologies - should have made it clear that by  'old USB converter' I mean that I have had it for about 5 years - and that it is not a Magix converter.

The point I was trying to make is that it appears in the drop down menu as a seperate device - so your converter should appear as 'Video Wandler' or by some other name that indicates it is the USB converter you are using.

The SCART option is odd - is this a PC with a graphics card that has a 'video in' socket for capturing or is it a laptop?
