I can't get a midi signal in Samplitude Music Studio 15, from my external keyboard, only audio?

I use Samplitude Music Studio 15 version 15.00. It has always worked well with no problems but I recently had to re- install the software on another computer which I had to acquire, as my motherboard  on my old PC failed. I am running Windows XP.

Everything  is ok except that when I try to record a midi track using VST instuments controlled from my Yamaha PSR 630 midi keyboard via a Midimate USB connection  through a Xenta External Sound Pocket for my 5.1 Logitech speakers , I am getting no midi signal only audio. My VST effects all work ok. On my previous computer and  I did not need the Sound Pocket.

I am using Asio4all v2 as my system driver and everything is working ok except for this problem. I have assigned the appropriate midi channels correctly,  just the same as I did on my other computer, using the same procedure on this PC but no midi signal...please, can anyone help me or perhaps suggest something that I have overlooked or missed...Thanks

Hi

Why do you now need the Xenta unit?

You can hear the instrument you are controlling in Samplitude through the computer sound system.

You should plug the Midimate directly into the PC and in Samplitude select this for input to control the midi instruments..
