I am getting a lot of audio noise when I import video files

I am importing files into Movie Edit Pro 16 and getting a lot of audio noise (static). These files worked with Movie Edit Pro 14, no static. The files played outside of Edit Pro 16 does not have audio issues either. What could be causing the problem and how do I correct it?

try to change the audio export setting on the Advanced settings button. It might be the video, if it is, try to clean the audio using the tool that is built-in. Right click and clikc on Audio cleaning (or something like that)
