How to insert audio file in a slide show (dah!)

This is so frustrating. I am trying to create a slideshow with Photostory Deluxe 10. I have all the pics in now. Next I grab an audio file in wav format and drag and drop in to audio track. I see the wave form there. However, when I play the slide show, I do not get any sound!!! Is there any set up I have to do for the software to recognize my sound card andif so  where do I do it?

There is so little documentation on this software that it is so frustrating.

One more thing. In the Task menu, it says I should be able to select a media file like audio, preview it (meaning play it ) and then insert in the slide show. I do not ssem to be able to test that either. The wav file plays fine in other players like Windows Media Player so I know there is nothing wrong with my recording or the pc sound system.

Please help!

Hi

Do you have the same problem if you import a mp3 file?

What is the source of the wav file?

I suspect the problem is due to the codec for the wav file not being available - you can use GSpot to analyse the audio file and determine if the codecs are installed and are available - click the blue buttons bottom left of the GSpot window below MS A / V

Hi John,

I talked to Magix people. They told me to copy and paste all the track info into a new window fo slideshow wizard and that made the same wave files work there. This shouyld not be happening. I wasted so much of critical time to figure out! There seems to be some problem if I create the slideshow manually and not using the wizard.

So far this has not been a very good product for me.

Thanks for your help.
