Have you set it up as the recording device in Windows (Control Panel > Sounds...) and in MMM?

After re-reading your question, it sounds like you may be confused.

Do you want to record the "sounds" (audio) from your drum kit, or do you want to use it as a MIDI controller?  Audio and MIDI are two completely different things.

It would be helpful if you told us what the make and model of your drum kit is and if it came with a driver (on CD).

The Session Pro DD505 is both an audio and MIDI device.  It has a MIDI OUT that allows you to play sounds from another MIDI device, like a sound module, or record your playing to a MIDI sequencer.  It does not have a MIDI IN, so you can't play the DD505 using a MIDI sequencer.

You are interested in the audio outputs. The DD505 has eight individual outputs for the differents drums/cymbals, but you want to use the left and right stereo (mixed) outputs.  You will need to get an "adapter" that goes from two 1/4" mono (TS) plugs to a single 3.5mm stereo (TRS) plug.  This will allow you to take full advantage of stereo and reverb effects.

The two 1/4" plugs go to the Left and Right output jacks on the back of the DD505.  The 3.5mm stereo plug will go to the BLUE Line-IN jack on your computer's sound card or built-in sound interface.

Then go to your (Windows) Control Panel...

Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Audio (tab) > Sound Recording - Default Device

...and make sure your sound card is the listed recording device.

When you go to record something in MAGIX Music Maker, you will click "Record" on the left side of the track you want to record on.  Then click on the red Record button on the "transport" (play controls).  Where it says, "Please choose audio driver", pick your sound card from the list.  Then, click the red Record button to start recording.

SWEET!!!   Thanks for letting us know.  (It happens so rarely.)
